I got this card primarily due to the fact that I game at a 1440p resolution with a refresh rate of 144hz and this GPU seemed like the definite sweet spot for that based off of what I saw through benchmarks. And I can say with certainty, it doesn't disappoint in that regard as I received major performance gains in multiple games upgrading from an RTX 2070.
(A couple of FPS averages in games that I've tested it on)
Call of Duty: MW Multiplayer: 150-200 FPS average @ max settings 1440p
Call of Duty: Warzone: 100-130 FPS average @ max settings 1440p
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer Beta: 120-160 FPS average @ max settings 1440p
Red Dead Redemption 2: 100+ FPS average @ highest graphics preset 1440p
This card quite literally doubled my performance in some games as the FPS I listed was about half of that on my RTX 2070 if not worse in some games as it couldn't handle 1440p that well at a high refresh rate. It should also be mentioned that I have a Valve Index VR headset for those interested in VR gaming and I run it a 144hz refresh rate and a recommended render scale of 150%, and the performance is drastically better with this card in multiple games and I don't notice any stutters or fps dips that I would get before.
This should be a no brainer, but I also can't recommend enough getting a very strong CPU if you're going for high framerates at 1080p or 1440p unless you do 4K60 gaming as even with an i7 8700 clocked at 4.3 GHz, the CPU usage gets very high in many games, mainly if you're trying to go for very high framerates like I am. This CPU bottlenecked this card badly when I tried playing at 1440p low settings on CoD: Black Ops Cold War and I couldn't achieve 200+ fps like newer CPUs could. I'm personally upgrading to the Ryzen 9 5900X as soon as it drops to get the most out of this card and I can't wait to take full advantage of it.
Overall, with this card being priced at almost the base MSRP like the Founder's Edition card, it looks very nice, gets great temps, and is a worthwhile upgrade if you game at 1440p 144hz like I do. I've even found it could be overclocked just a bit, but considering the performance gain from it is very small, it's not really worth it. It's actually more worth it to undervolt the card over attempting to do any overclocking as it will keep your card cooler and more stable with almost no difference in performance, which is a huge plus. Definitely worth if you can get your hands on one of these cards!
Edit with new CPU upgrade:
I received a Ryzen 7 5800X about a week ago to replace my i7-8700 which was bottlenecking my 3080 in many high-end games that I attempted to play pretty badly and causing stutters as a result of the bottleneck as well. Sadly I was unable to get a Ryzen 9 5900X due to much lower stock since that was my original go-to, but it turns out I had no need to be worried, as even the 5800X is more than enough to fix all of the bottlenecks that came with my last CPU and still have plenty of headroom to spare. I heavily recommend pairing this CPU with the 3080!
Here's the FPS averages of two games that I tested it with since they have all I've really been playing since I got the CPU, FPS with my older CPU from these games is above.
CoD Black Ops Cold War - All Modes:
150-200 FPS average @ Max Settings 1440p, DLSS set to Quality, RTX Off (RTX brings it to half these numbers)
200+ FPS average @ Low Settings 1440p
CoD Warzone:
140-180 FPS average @ Max Settings 1440p, RTX Off
